The second company I co-founded with business partner Fred Macdonald, Harmony DMC, was conceived to take advantage of huge changes we perceived in the digital distribution of content.
The competitive landscape forged between technology companies like Apple, Yahoo, Real Networks, AOL, HP Microsoft, and so many others, created the basis of opportunity for a company like Harmony DMC.
We successfully negotiated with a number of non-profit youth organizations including National PTA, and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, to represent them in the sale of digital content for the purpose of fund-raising, and education. Together these organizations represent a formidible force - with over 10 Million members combined and representation in every zip code in the country. And by working together we were able to secure unprecidented terms.
The first technology company to participate with the program was HP, and in of April of this year, the first two digital content stores officially opened for business:
